Laura Tornga is a Los Angeles-based creative producer and helped to found Media Misfits. She is currently earning her Master’s in Entertainment Leadership and Management at Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television, where she also serves as the Festival Director of The Innovator’s Film Festival - an international GenAI-focused event celebrating pioneers who are leveraging cutting-edge technology to transform cinematic storytelling. In recognition of her leadership, she was recently nominated for LMU’s Student Employee of the Year.
Driven by a passion for visual storytelling and a sharp eye for detail, Laura has produced 12 short live-action films to date including four student projects in just the past eight months. Her portfolio spans narrative shorts, music videos, and branded content, and she frequently takes on additional roles as director and director of photography. As a photographer, she brings a cinematic sensibility and emotional depth to every frame.
Before transitioning into film, Laura built a successful career in New York City as an international business development manager for video ad-serving platforms at tech startups. Her background in global media strategy and emerging technologies informs her dynamic, solutions-oriented approach to producing — balancing creative vision with operational precision.
Laura is a managing member at Media Misfits because her passion is to champion stories that are emotionally authentic, visually arresting, and unapologetically original. She is especially drawn to narratives centered on outsiders, rebels, and underrepresented voices — stories that challenge convention and reflect the world as it is, and as it could be.
